Noona Bae

Born on January 7, 1988 in Martinique, in the town of Lamentin, Aude VOLNY-ANNE, known under the singer name Noona Bae, is an author whose literary and artistic universe "she calls it Nayunbae" is deeply rooted in her Caribbean origins and her love for Russia.
From a young age, she nurtured a passion for dance, music and literature. From the age of 4, she divided her time between the Lamentin library and the dance hall of the cultural center, where she learned traditional Caribbean dances. It was also at this age that she began playing the piano, an instrument that still accompanies her today. She also plays the guitar and percussion.
Growing up between Martinican traditions and outside influences, she developed a fascination for the cultural richness and natural beauty of her native island. Martinique, with its heavenly beaches, lush nature and way of life marked by conviviality and serenity, occupies an essential place in her heart and her writing. Inspired by Renée Descartes, Blaise Pascal, William James, Léon Tolstoï, Aimé Césaire and Émile Zola, she explores the themes of identity, heritage and the fight for social justice.
Her love for Russia is just as deep. She is captivated by Vladivostok and Rostov-on-Don, as well as by the wild beauty of the vast Russian expanses and the Kuril Islands, whose raw and untamed grandeur feeds her imagination. Moscow particularly amazes her for its quiet, gentle mornings before the traffic fills the city, as well as for its parks and its ice in winter. She is also seduced by Russian humor, caustic and poetic, which reflects a deep resilience in the face of the trials of history. Passionate about Russian literature, she is influenced by the works of Pushkin, Gogol, Tolstoy, Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky, who shape her vision of the world and enrich her writing.
Passionate about gastronomy, she particularly appreciates Ukrainian and Russian cuisine, with a marked preference for okroshka (krochit) and borscht. She is also attracted by the simplicity of Italian cuisine, the freshness of Korean dishes and the enchanting landscapes of Jeju-do Island.
After living in England, in Bulgaria, she is now in France, where she decided to devote herself fully to her passion for writing. A former press correspondent, she swapped her career as a journalist for that of an author and multiplied literary projects: novels, essays, collections of poetry, scripts and articles. Her work explores varied themes ranging from naturopathy to travel, including well-being, beauty, racism and fiction inspired by real events.
A polyglot, she writes in French, English, Creole, Russian, Ukrainian, Italian, Portuguese, Korean, Spanish and Polish. This linguistic wealth allows her to accurately capture and transcribe the cultural nuances that inform her work.
